 Lettuce: Lettuce markets are steady. Weights are being reported around 39 to 43 pounds. Quality is good. 

Leaf: 

• Romaine markets are steady. Expect to see slight fringe burn and minor mildew due to recent rain. Quality is fair to good. 
• Romaine Heart markets are slightly up. Quality is good. 
• Green Leaf markets are slightly down. Expect to see slight fringe burn and minor mildew due to recent rain. Quality is fair to good. 
• Red Leaf markets are slightly down. Expect to see slight fringe burn and minor mildew due to recent rain. Quality is fair to good. 

Lettuce Tender Leaf: 

• Arcadian, Arugula, Spring Mix, Italian Parsley, Spinach & Cilantro Expect to see yellowing and wilting due to recent rain. Quality is fair to good. 

Broccoli: 

Markets are coming down, but there are still some insect pressures at field level. There is an AOG increase on all value-added products. Quality is fair to good. 

Cauliflower: 

Markets are coming off. Quality is good. 

Carrots: 

• Cello markets are steady out West. Canada crop is in great shape with great quality. Costs are a little lower for this coming week. 
• Loose market is much higher on Mexican crossings with good quality. Canada market is steady. Quality has been very nice. 
• Value-add Snack Carrots are steady. Quality is good. 

Celery: California markets are up while Canada markets are steady. Quality is good 

Strawberries & Bush Berries: Alert 

• Strawberry markets are steady. The new season is projected to start in mid-November with crossings from Mexico. In Salinas and Watsonville, volumes are declining as labor shifts to preparing new beds. Santa Maria and Oxnard are seeing increased production. Quality is fair to good. 
• Raspberry markets are steady. Transferred fruit from Baja and Central Mexico are starting to arrive. These volumes are expected to gradually increase over the coming weeks. Quality is fair to good. 
• Blueberries markets are up and active. The industry-wide shortage continues, but we anticipate improved availability of Peruvian imports and Central Mexico product by mid-October. Currently, only small volumes of Peruvian offshore fruit are arriving each week. Quality is fair too good. 
• Blackberries markets are steady, but with very limited supplies. Some relief is expected as early as late next week from Central Mexico region crossing through Texas. Quality is fair. 

Pineapples: 

Market is steady on product from Costa Rica. Quality has been good on recent arrivals from Costa Rica. 

Potatoes: 

The Potato market is strong. 40s through 70s are still plentiful, while 80s through #2s are tighter sizes. Quality has been good. 

Onions: 

The onion market is steady. Quality has been good. 

Cucumbers: 

• Cucumber The market is steady/ strong with lighter volume on both selects and supers. Cooler weather especially in NY, Michigan and Canada are slowing things down. We are sourcing from New York, New Jersey, Canada. Quality has been good on inbound. 
• Euro Cucumbers markets are coming off. Quality is good. 

Squash: 

The green squash market is steady with fair supplies in NJ and NY. Yellow squash steady with limited supplies of good quality squash. Cooler temperatures have also slowed the squash harvest. We will have a mix of New Jersey, New York and Canadian product for next week. 

Eggplant: 

Quality on New Jersey Eggplant has been sharp on recent arrivals. Market remains high with very light volume. 

Peppers: 

• Green bell market is steady on green pepper. Quality on inbound has been good. New Jersey, NY, and Canada all experiencing a drop in production due to the cooler weather. 
• Red Pepper markets are steady to slightly lower with adequate supplies. Quality has been good on recent inbounds. 
• Chile Pepper Jalapeno pepper market is steady on the lower end. Quality has been sharp on recent arrivals. New Jersey has good volume. Mexico has good supplies and the market is steady 

Herbs: 

• Basil: quality is fair. 

Citrus: 

• Orange-Alert Markets out of California are very active and sold out. Shippers are only covering Contracts. There is a peak in fruit production for 72ct and larger; 88/113/138ct are extremely scarce and will remain so until the end of the Val season. Quality is good. 
• Import Orange market remains high with vessels delayed. Product is very short. There are some Mexican imports starting, but are very limited. Quality is good. 
• Lemons Markets out of California are up on all sizes. Quality is good. 
• Imports are steady with good quality. 

• Limes Market softened up at the end of last week, and we saw pricing come down, especially on the small sizes. With the quality issues growers are seeing they don’t have the luxury of holding onto fruit to keep the market elevated. They continue harvesting, to keep the quality issues from developing further. This continued harvesting, especially heavy harvesting of smaller 250/275ct fruit, will keep the larger fruit tight and priced higher for the next several weeks. Look for the gap in pricing between 110ct and 250ct to widen this week and stay separated for quite some time. We are still seeing large percentages of fruit needing regraded and reworked upon arrival, as well as occasional stylar and skin breakdown showing up at the end customer as well. 

Grapes: 

Markets are steady for both red and green grapes. Quality has been good on California fruit. 

Tomatoes: 

Markets are slightly coming off, with product being sourced from Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina in the East. Florida is expected to begin its season in late October, weather permitting. A hurricane watch is currently in effect, potentially impacting growing regions in Northern Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee, which could lead to significant rainfall. In the West, supplies are moderate, as California has about 4-5 weeks left in its season, while supplies from Baja and Central Mexico have seen some improvement. 

Cabbage: 

• Green Cartons: Markets are a few dollars higher on green cabbage. Cooler weather is slowing volume. Canada, New York, Pa, and NJ all in production. Quality has been sharp on inbound. 
• Red Cartons: Markets are elevated with good demand. Quality is good. 
• Bagged Cabbage: We have bag cabbage in stock from Canada. Market is up a few dollars with lighter supplies.
