- Limes: As the weather begins to warm up some, we are starting to see an increase in demand for limes. This is also the time of year that we see the lowest supplies of limes out of Mexico, which typically results in some of the highest market prices in the months of March and April. We are seeing a combination of new crop and old crop fruit currently in Mexico. The new crop fruit is showing better color and quality but still has some skin breakdown due to recent rains. The older crop fruit is showing lighter color, some skin breakdown, stylar, and often times has to get reworked once it gets to the US to remove any issues. Beware of cheap fruit in the marketplace as some growers are trying to sell low quality fruit at a discount before they are forced to just dump it. Green Cartons: Markets are steady.
